Khaberni - Sources in the Lebanese Hezbollah said that the personal bodyguard for Secretary-General Naim Qassem was killed in the Israeli raids on Wednesday.
The Lebanese security source stated that the first strike in the morning targeted a building and a nearby car park area on Corniche El Mazraa in the capital Beirut, where it was said that Qassem was hiding there.
Meanwhile, a subsequent Israeli raid on Wednesday, which partially destroyed a 10-story building, was said to be the residence of Qassem's cousin, according to sources.
Earlier, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority denied the details reported by "Channel 12" Hebrew regarding an assassination attempt on Naim Qassem, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, stating that he was not targeted in the recent raids on Lebanon.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority mentioned: "Contrary to what was reported on a channel report, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem was not targeted for assassination in the airstrikes in Lebanon."
Israel launched widespread, swift, and unexpected raids across Lebanon on Wednesday, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied that a ceasefire was in effect on Israeli operations in Lebanon.
The Israeli military also announced the largest strike across Lebanon since the start of Operation "Lion's Roar," indicating that it targeted about 100 Hezbollah headquarters and military infrastructure within 10 minutes.
It noted that the attack had been planned for many weeks by the operations, intelligence, air forces, and northern command wings.
Lebanese medical sources confirmed that the initial toll of the Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon reached 182 killed and hundreds injured.
It is worth noting that Iran and the United States agreed to a ceasefire for two weeks and a temporary reopening of the Strait of Hormuz overnight in a last deal to avoid a massive wave of strikes threatened by President Donald Trump.
The deal was praised by politicians worldwide, but concerns still remain about the situation in Lebanon with the ongoing Israeli attacks and Iran's threat to withdraw from the agreement in protest against it.
