Khaberni - Atlético Madrid secured a precious 2-0 victory over Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, which took place on Wednesday evening at Camp Nou.
The match was thrilling, coming just four days after Barcelona's victory over the same team in the Spanish league, where Atlético took control in the crucial moments, benefitting from the sending off of young defender Pau Coparsi in the 41st minute.
Julian Alvarez scored a wonderful goal from a direct free kick in the 45th minute, and Sørloth added the second goal in the 70th minute from a fast counterattack with a powerful shot, giving Atlético Madrid a significant advantage before the second leg, and placing Barcelona in an almost impossible task of making a comeback.
