Pixel Phones Outperform iPhone and Galaxy in Repairability

Khaberni - The latest European ratings for the year 2026 indicate that Google's Pixel phones outperform both iPhone and Galaxy from "Samsung" in terms of repairability, in a report focusing on the practical repair experience and not just the availability of parts.

The results are as follows: "Motorola" received a B+, "Google" a C-, while "Samsung" dropped to a D and "Apple" to a D-.

The ranking is based on the number of steps required to access main components and the complexity of common repair operations, according to a report published by "digitaltrends" which was reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".

The report states that this new ranking is directly related to the cost of owning a phone, as devices that are harder to open or repair often cost more to maintain, especially with limited software support and availability of spare parts.

Why does Pixel excel?
Pixel phones are distinguished by their ease of opening, reliance on standard tools, and clearer access to components, making repairs faster and less costly.

Conversely, "Apple" and "Samsung" face greater obstacles, with additional steps to access components and restrictions on service operations.

The report also highlights the importance of software support, as certain software restrictions can prevent particular repairs even if replacing the part is possible, affecting most brands.

The broader outcome
Repairability is beginning to become an important standard for evaluating phones, especially with increased awareness of "right to repair" laws and interest in reducing electronic waste.

So far, there is no similar rating system in the United States, making repairability ratings one of the best indicators of a phone's expected lifespan and duration of use.
