Khaberni - The "Financial Times" reported that Tehran is demanding a fee of one dollar per barrel of oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz, even during the ceasefire period.
The British newspaper added that Iran has stipulated that these payments be made in cryptocurrencies. It also clarified that empty oil tankers are allowed to pass for free.
According to what was reported by the newspaper from a representative of the Iranian Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Exporters Union, Hamid Hosseini, fees will be paid in "Bitcoin," which allows for hiding transactions and avoiding sanction risks for ship owners.
As per Hosseini, "Iran needs to monitor what enters and leaves the strait to ensure these two weeks are not exploited for arms transfer."
Today, preliminary signs of ship activity are appearing in the Strait of Hormuz, following the announcement of a ceasefire that includes a temporary reopening of this strategic waterway.
According to data from the "MarineTraffic" platform, today the first two ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz after the ceasefire announcement, with hundreds of ships still in the area, including 426 oil tankers, 34 LPG carriers, and 19 LNG carriers.
