Khaberni - Khaberni - Samsung's plans for foldable phones in 2026 have appeared ambitious for some time. Among the expected Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the rumored Fold Wide, it seems that all the company's movements regarding foldable devices for this year have been covered.
However, a new certification indicates that Samsung may surprise the market with another foldable phone.
New battery data in the Chinese "3C" certification database points to a device from Samsung with the model number SM-F977, according to a report viewed by "Al Arabiya Business" from "SammyGuru".
This is noteworthy because the model numbers for the recent Fold series usually fall within the "F9xx" range, whereas the model number for the previously discussed Galaxy Z Fold 8 was SM-F976, and the rumored Wide Fold was SM-F971 in previous leaks.
The profile itself doesn't reveal much other than a battery capacity of 2,485 milliamp-hours, leaving much room for speculation.
"SammyGuru" suspects this mysterious phone could be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 FE, another version of the Fold Wide, the TriFold 2, or other devices from the Fold family, although some of these guesses seem more like wishful thinking than reality.
The only concrete clue in this leak is the battery capacity. It is rumored that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will use two battery cells with capacities of 2,369 and 2,485 milliamp-hours for a typical total of 5,000 milliamp-hours.
The fact that the leak contains the same capacity for one of the cells in the Z Fold 8 doesn't provide definitive answers, but it makes the best guess that the device is a variant linked to the Fold 8, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 FE or another special edition, rather than being a completely new foldable device model.
