Khaberni - Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdul Latif Al-Zayani confirmed on Tuesday that closing the Strait of Hormuz threatens the lives of millions of people.
Al-Zayani added during a session of the United Nations Security Council regarding the Strait of Hormuz that huge quantities of oil, gas, medicines, and food pass through the strait.
He said that any disruption in the passage of goods through the Strait of Hormuz has a negative global impact.
He emphasized that the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz cannot be ignored.
The United Nations Security Council failed on Tuesday to adopt a draft resolution submitted by Arab countries including Jordan, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
Eleven members voted in favor of the draft resolution while China and Russia opposed it using their veto power, and two members abstained from voting.
