Khaberni - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Ya'arub Al-Qudah, confirmed the regularity of supply chains for primary materials for the industrial sector, pointing to ongoing government efforts to reduce production costs and enhance market stability and competitiveness of the national product.
This was stated during a meeting he held with representatives of the wood and furniture industries and the chemical materials industry, attended by representatives of the sectors in the Jordan Chamber of Industry, where mechanisms for ensuring the sustainability of supplying factories with raw materials were discussed. The discussion also covered reducing the impact of rising prices and shipping wages globally within the available means.
Al-Qudah explained that the supply chains through the Aqaba Port and land crossings are functioning normally, ensuring the flow of materials without interruption and meeting the needs of various industrial sectors, according to ongoing follow-up plans.
He pointed out that the Ministry is working in coordination with the relevant entities to mitigate the ramifications of regional disturbances and reduce their reflections on production costs, ensuring the continuity of the production process.
He emphasized that the government gives priority to the industrial sector, considering its role in supporting the national economy and providing goods, pointing to the importance of maintaining production stability during the current stage.
He stressed the need to enhance the partnership between the public and private sectors, and continue coordination to reduce the increase in costs and alleviate the impact of global price rises on the local market as much as possible.
In turn, representatives of the industrial sector affirmed their commitment to continue production and meet the local market needs, noting their focus on controlling prices concerning the economic conditions as much as possible, calling for the continuation of supportive government actions to facilitate the access to raw materials and enhance the resilience of supply chains.
