Women Outperform Men in Remembering Faces and Emotional Details Why

Khaberni - Professor Dmitry Yediliev reported that women remember people's faces, the details of events, and other emotional and visual information better than men, thanks to patterns of eye movement, genetics, and hormone levels.
The professor explained that women, unconsciously, study people's faces in more detail than men do. He said:
"A study using eye-tracking technology, which monitors and analyzes eye movement and gaze fixation, showed that women spend significantly more time studying facial features and areas associated with information, such as the eyes, nose, and mouth. Women fixate their gaze on people's faces between 10 and 40% more than men, as if they are gathering comprehensive visual information."

The professor noted that women might not even be aware of this process themselves, and experts believe this ability may have evolved to support the evolutionary nurturing of offspring.

He added that researchers from the Institute of Psychiatry in London discovered that genes and hormones affect memory formation and learning in men and women. Men excel in remembering tactical and spatial information, while women excel in remembering emotional and visual information.

He also mentioned that women possess a strong episodic memory, where faces and smells of others become an integral part of significant events in their lives.
