Khaberni - The name of the series "The Fourth Wife" by the Egyptian artist Mostafa Shaaban dominated search engines across various social media platforms following a production company's announcement of its readiness to produce a second season of the series, which was broadcast on satellite channels 15 years ago and achieved great success.
This news upset director Magdi El-Hawari and writer Ahmed Abdel Fattah, who appear to own all the rights to the series.
El-Hawari and Abdel Fattah were forced to issue a statement saying: "Given some news about preparations for a second season of the series "The Fourth Wife" which aired in Ramadan 2012, to be broadcast in Ramadan 2027, and out of respect for the public's right to know the truth, this is a statement from the work's author Ahmed Abdel Fattah and its director Magdi El-Hawari, who are the main creators and rights holders of the work based on their registration with the Artistic Works Authority since 2011, which is the authority dedicated to documenting artistic works to their owners."
"The Original Rights Holders"
The statement added: "We declare that everything related to preparations for a second season of the mentioned work is completely untrue and inaccurate, and the author and director have not received any contact from any production entity regarding making a second season, and nobody, not even the respected production company that produced the first season, has the right to make a second season without referring back to the original rights holders, the author and the director, to avoid legal prosecution, according to the contracts signed between us which did not agree on making a second season in any of its clauses."
Mostafa Shaaban stated that he indeed received an offer to make a new season of the series "The Fourth Wife", but he has not yet made a decision and has not agreed to it, according to Al Arabiya.
Shaaban added that the matter of course depends on the quality of the script and the main idea upon which the new season's events are based, in addition to the approval of all parties involved with the work.
It is worth mentioning that the series "The Fourth Wife" stars Mostafa Shaaban, Lekaa Elkhamissi, Heba Magdi, Ayten Amer, Dora, Ola Ghanem, Hassan Hosny, and Mahmoud El Bezawy, and was written by Ahmed Abdel Fattah and directed by Magdi El-Hawari.
