Within a week polygamy causes two murders in Jordan

Khaberni  - Last week, "polygamy" led to two murders committed in the context of domestic violence; the first in the city of Ramtha, and the second in the area of Sweileh, where the accused in the last case killed his second wife with the interference of his first wife.

The Grand Criminal Prosecutor detained the accused in Jweideh prison for two weeks pending investigation, within the framework of the charges of premeditated murder and practicing "thuggish acts" that led to death, both of which - if proven - carry the death penalty by hanging. The first wife was also detained in Jweideh women's prison on charges of intervening in premeditated murder, according to Al-Ghad.

According to reliable sources, the accused had married an Arab nationality girl six months before the crime occurred over his first wife, and the marital relationship experienced a series of disputes and conflicts, prompting the victim to return to her country angry at her husband's behavior and "co-wife."

However, the accused traveled to her and asked her to return to Jordan on the basis of ending the disputes, and after the victim agreed and returned with her husband, the disputes escalated again; until last Friday, in the presence of his first wife, he beat her severely until she lost consciousness, and after she collapsed unconscious, he took her to the hospital where it turned out that she had passed away.

The Ramtha Crime

Regarding the details of the first crime that took place in the city of Ramtha, a woman killed her two daughters by shooting them and then committed suicide; protesting against her husband's refusal to give up part of his wealth for their daughters to secure their future before undergoing surgery.

According to informed sources, the father of the two girls was facing serious health conditions, and was about to undergo surgery, which made the wife concerned about the future of her family in the event of her husband's death - God forbid - in the presence of another wife and children from the first wife, so she requested him to relinquish part of his wealth to them before the operation, but he refused her request.

The same sources denied that the wife (who committed suicide after killing her two daughters) suffered from any clinical history or mental illnesses that led her to commit the crime.
