Khaberni - The Jordanian General Silos and Supply Company announced a package of encouraging discounts related to grain and food storage, reaching up to 40% for all warehouse renters who do not already have a rental discount or have a lower discount rate, as part of supporting food security and enhancing the strategic stockpile in the Kingdom.
The company's management clarified in a press statement that the decision will start from the beginning of April 2026 and will last until the end of May of the same year, including encouraging discounts on storage fees, alongside facilities for importers aimed at motivating them to increase imported quantities and introduce them into the Kingdom during the specified period.
The silos management confirmed that this step is part of a proactive policy to enhance the strategic inventory of food supplies, and to ensure their availability in safe quantities that meet the local market's needs.
They added that offering encouraging prices and discounts on storage services serves as a direct incentive for importers to increase the import of grains and essential supplies during this period, which positively reflects on the availability of goods and the stability of their prices in the market.
The company affirmed that it continues to develop its logistical services and expand its storage capacity, which supports national efforts in achieving food security and enhances partnership with the private sector in this vital field.
This decision comes amid continuous governmental directions to ensure the stability of essential goods, especially wheat and supply materials, and to enhance the readiness of the national stock to face any regional or international changes that might affect supply chains.
