Ammans Industrial Exports Grow by 29 in Q1 2026

Khaberni - Amman Chamber of Industry's exports grew by 2.9% in the first quarter of the current year 2026, compared to the same period last year, despite regional tensions in the area.

This growth, which affected eight out of ten industrial subsectors, indicates the Jordanian industry's ability to overcome difficulties and enhance its competitiveness in export markets, relying on its high quality.

According to statistical data from the Amman industry, the chamber’s exports during the first quarter of the current year 2025 amounted to 1.741 billion dinars compared to 1.691 billion dinars for the same period last year.

Most industrial sectors recorded an increase in their exports during the first quarter of the current year except for two sectors: the engineering and electrical industries and information technology, and the leather and textiles sectors, which decreased by 35.8% and 4.2% respectively.

In contrast, exports of the other eight industrial subsectors increased by varying rates, the highest being the pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies sector, which increased by 23.9%, and the least being the plastics and rubber sector, which increased by 0.6%.

According to the geographical distribution of the chamber's exports during the first quarter of the current year, Arab countries led with a value of 869 million dinars, followed by North American countries with 228 million dinars, and non-Arab Asian countries about 387 million dinars.

Amman's industrial exports to the European Union countries during the first quarter of the current year amounted to 129 million dinars, non-EU European countries 79 million dinars, African countries about 13 million dinars, South American countries about 12 million dinars, and other countries valued at 26 million dinars.

Exports from the chamber during the first quarter of the current year were distributed across mining industries valued at 379 million dinars, chemical and cosmetics products 357 million dinars, and provisioning, food, agriculture, and livestock worth about 272 million dinars.

The exports of engineering and electrical industries, information technology amounted to 197 million dinars, pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies 181 million dinars, and leather and textiles 134 million dinars.

The rest of the chamber's exports during the first quarter of the current year were distributed among plastics and rubber industries valued at about 77 million dinars, packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies 74 million dinars, construction 65 million dinars, and wood and furniture about 5 million dinars.

The Amman Chamber of Industry was founded in 1962 and currently includes 8600 industrial establishments, employing 159,000 workers with a capital of about 5 billion dinars.
