Khaberni - Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa expressed his regret over his team's loss against Real Mallorca 1-2 on Saturday in the Spanish league, but he confirmed that this loss would not affect the team's morale before facing Bayern Munich.
Arbeloa said in a press conference after the match: "We were not patient enough and did not apply what we trained on throughout the week, we did not succeed in turning the score in our favor or playing well on the wings, we played a much better first half than the second, we realize that we need more vitality and focus in the second half."
About Mallorca, Arbeloa said: "For me, it's very easy to realize the difficulty of that match, considering the strength of the opponent and the circumstances surrounding the team, the difficulty lies in making the players realize that they will not win unless they make enough effort to achieve that, in such matches once you lose focus and decisiveness, your opponent becomes stronger and more cohesive and this is the result of not playing well in the second half, which hurts me a lot."
Arbeloa acknowledged his responsibility for that result saying: "I am responsible for that defeat and I told the players that, it is my full responsibility and I want them to think about the Tuesday match (against Bayern Munich) from now, I am the one who makes the decisions, makes substitutions, and defines the playing style, I just want them to give their utmost in the Champions League, it is a very important tournament for us, when they leave the dressing room they should only focus on Bayern Munich."
About expecting a gift from Atletico Madrid who will face the leader Barcelona later today on Saturday, Arbeloa said: "This does not concern me, all that matters to me is my team and the match on Tuesday, I do not waste my time on things that do not concern Real Madrid."
With this loss, Real Madrid's points were frozen at 69 in the second place in the league standings, four points behind the leader Barcelona, who will be able to extend the gap to seven points if they win later today on Saturday against Atletico Madrid, the third place, in the highlight match of round 30.
The defeat against Mallorca has raised concerns before the royal team's home match with its guest Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals next Tuesday.
