Qargash about the Abu Dhabi Embassy Incident in Damascus Reflects a Security Environment Defect

Khaberni - Anwar Qargash, advisor to the President of the UAE, confirmed that the assault on embassies and diplomatic missions is not only a violation of international law but also reflects a defect in the security environment of the countries where these assaults occur.
Qargash commented following the attack on the United Arab Emirates embassy in Damascus by demonstrators attempting to storm it, with Syrian security forces intervening to protect the embassy.

Qargash wrote on the "X" platform: "The assault on embassies and diplomatic missions is not only a blatant violation of international law, but also reflects a defect in the security environment of the countries in which these assaults occur".
He added: "What a small extremist group driven by a rejected agenda does, comes at a time when the UAE is hosting a wide Syrian community living and working in security and peace".

Qargash further stated: "Dangerous messages that require decisive resolution and full commitment to respecting international law".

For its part, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its rejection of any assault or attempt to approach the embassies and diplomatic headquarters accredited in Syria after attempts to storm the UAE and US embassies in Damascus.

Local sources informed RT that the tension around the UAE embassy arose when protesters tried to reach the vicinity of the embassy, before security forces intervened to prevent them, leading to direct clashes and scuffles between the parties, with no official information on injuries or arrests reported.
