Khaberni - The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf confirmed that the Islamic Republic does not pose a threat to the region, emphasizing that Tehran has always extended "the hand of friendship and brotherhood" to the neighbors and other Islamic nations.
Qalibaf stated in remarks carried by Iranian media: "This message is directed at the Islamic countries in the region and was written during the fifth week of the Ramadan War, a war not chosen or started by the Islamic Republic of Iran, but today it has become a symbol of the resilience of the world's free and those seeking independence and opposing dominance."
Qalibaf added that the war ravaging the region was started by "the United States and the Zionist regime, not only against our beloved Iran, but also against the security of the region and the idea of Islamic unity and brotherhood," stressing that strengthening relationships with neighboring countries and the Islamic world has always been a priority for Tehran.
This statement comes at a time when the American-Israeli war on Iran continues for the thirty-sixth consecutive day, with ongoing exchanges of missile strikes and drones.
As concerns escalate about the widening scope of the conflict, amidst intense diplomatic efforts to find a solution to the crisis, Tehran insists that it did not start the war, demanding a cessation of aggression and the lifting of sanctions as conditions for ending the dispute.
