Khaberni - The Ministry Complex building in Kuwait was severely damaged on Sunday morning due to an attack by an Iranian drone, in a new escalation of Iranian attacks on the country's vital infrastructure.
The Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA), quoting the Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance, said that "the targeting of the Ministry Complex by a hostile drone due to Iranian aggression resulted in significant material damage to the building.. with no human injuries," and the Ministry decided to switch to remote work for the complex's employees and postponed receiving visitors.
Early on Sunday morning, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation reported a fire outbreak at the Shuwaikh oil sector complex (which houses the Corporation and the Ministry of Oil) following an assault with drones, with no human injuries reported. The Corporation confirmed that emergency and firefighting teams immediately dealt with the fire, and the building was fully evacuated.
The Kuwaiti Army's General Staff stated that "Kuwaiti air defenses are currently repelling missile and hostile drone attacks," indicating that the sounds of explosions heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting the attacks.
This escalation occurs as the American-Israeli war on Iran continues for the thirty-seventh consecutive day, with ongoing exchanges of missile strikes and drones that have affected several Gulf countries. Kuwait had previously announced similar repulsions of attacks in previous occasions.
