Khaberni - The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said on Friday that global food prices rose in March to their highest level since December, marking the second consecutive monthly increase.
The average of the organization’s food price index, which tracks changes in a basket of globally traded food commodities, reached 128.5 points in March, up 2.4% from its revised level in February.
In a separate report, the Food and Agriculture Organization slightly raised its forecasts for global grain production for the year 2025 to a record level of 3.036 billion tons, which will be an increase of 5.8% on an annual basis.
