Khaberni - The Pentagon spokesperson announced that General Randy George will retire from his position as Army Chief of Staff with immediate effect.
Earlier on Thursday, the television network «CBS News» reported, citing knowledgeable sources, that the U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had asked Army Chief of Staff General Randy George to step down and retire immediately.
George was appointed to this position in 2023, with an expected tenure until 2027.
