Trump fires US Attorney General Pam Bondi

Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi before his speech on developments in the war in Iran, as reported by "Fox News" on Thursday, citing two informed sources.

The sources told the network that Bondi met Trump in the Oval Office on Wednesday evening (local time in Washington), before his speech to the nation about the war in Iran, where she was informed of her dismissal.

One source added that by the time Trump stood behind the podium to deliver the speech, Bondi had already lost her position and was on her way to Florida.

The sources mentioned that Trump is considering appointing Environmental Protection Agency Director Lee Zeldin as Bondi's replacement.

They said that Trump had a meeting with Zeldin at the White House on Tuesday to discuss wildfires and their prevention, and the issue of the new position was also discussed.

An informed source explained that Zeldin is a potential replacement, but cautioned that Trump could change his mind at any time.

When a source in the White House was asked about the alleged meetings and Bondi's dismissal, they did not confirm the information, but stated it was "not untrue".

The dismissal came after a report by the "New York Times" stated that Trump was preparing to replace Bondi with Zeldin after becoming increasingly dissatisfied with her performance in the position.

Informed American sources told CNN that U.S. President Donald Trump is considering firing Attorney General Pam Bondi and appointing Environmental Protection Agency Director Lee Zeldin in her place.

The dismissal occurred on the same day that Bondi accompanied Trump to the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday morning to attend the oral arguments in the lawsuit against Trump's decision regarding the right to citizenship by birth
