Khaberni - The Iranian Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that aerial raids targeted the Pasteur Institute in Tehran, which has been around for more than a century, causing severe damage to this major health facility in the capital.
Ministry spokesman Hussein Kermanpour stated on the X platform that "the attack on the Iranian Pasteur Institute, a cornerstone of global health that has existed for a century, represents a direct assault on international health security."
He posted pictures of the site showing the building severely damaged, with parts of it turned into rubble.
The Pasteur Institute in Paris expressed its solidarity with the victims of the strikes targeting the institute in Tehran, asserting that the two institutions are independent.
It continued: "The Pasteur Institute in Iran has been independent since 1946; there is no scientific cooperation between the Pasteur Institute in Paris and the Pasteur Institute in Iran."
