Khaberni - The stations of the National Network for Earthquake Monitoring in Egypt, affiliated to the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, recorded an earthquake with a strength of 4.9 on the Richter scale this Wednesday.
The center explained that the focus of the seismic activity is located 647 kilometers northwest of the coastal city of Marsa Matrouh, specifically within the Mediterranean Sea basin, which attracted the attention of regional monitoring centers to follow any subsequent activity.
Technical reports issued by the competent Egyptian authorities confirmed that the coordinates of the location and the timing of the activity were recorded with high precision, indicating that there have been no reports of material damages or human injuries due to this earthquake due to the distance from populated areas inside Egypt.
