Statement issued by the Jordanian National Union Party

Khaberni - The Jordanian National Union Party is deeply concerned about the Israeli Knesset's approval of the second and third readings of a bill to execute Palestinian prisoners, in a step that represents a serious escalation and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and related international conventions.
This law clearly violates the provisions of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, which prohibit collective punishments and affirm the protection of prisoners, and is inconsistent with the fundamental principles of human rights and international covenants that guarantee the right to life and protect human dignity, including the protection of prisoners in armed conflicts.
The party asserts that Palestinian prisoners are part of a people under occupation, and their struggle is linked to legitimate rights guaranteed by international law, and under no circumstances should an occupying state issue legislation that prescribes their execution, in a flagrant violation of all international norms and laws.
Therefore, the Jordanian National Union Party declares its full support for the Palestinian people, and its categorical rejection of such laws and actions that add to the record of violations and war crimes committed by the right-wing government.
The party also renews its firm and clear position in rejecting the occupation, and its support for the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state on their national territory, according to a just and comprehensive solution that aligns with international resolutions and the party's vision for achieving peace based on justice and international legitimacy.
