28 Years After Peace Germany Records First Terrifying Wolf Attack on Human

Khaberni - Germany recorded its first case of a wolf attack on a human since these animals returned to spread across the country, where authorities announced today, Tuesday, that a woman was bitten in the northern city of Hamburg.

A spokesperson for the Federal Office for Nature Conservation said, "Such an incident has never been recorded since the resettlement of wolves began in 1998."

The incident occurred in the "Hamburg-Altona" area near an IKEA store branch before the authorities were able to later capture the animal.

A spokesperson for the environmental agency stated that investigations are still ongoing to uncover the precise circumstances of the incident.

The animal was captured late last night, Monday, in the heart of Hamburg city, where a spokesperson for the operations center reported that the police managed to pull the wolf from Lake Binnenalster using a lasso.

Klaus Hackländer, an expert at the "German Wildlife Foundation," stated that it is "very realistic" that the attacking animal was indeed a wolf, considering the current data.

He pointed out that the likelihood of wolves entering residential areas and cities has become significant due to a noticeable increase in their numbers.

It is noted that wolves had disappeared from Germany for nearly 150 years, where they were classified as extinct animals, and did not begin returning again via the Polish border until after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Today, wolves are widespread in the forests of many German states, achieving a clear ecological comeback that has sparked widespread debate on how to coexist with them in populated areas.
