Stunning Surprise Ghana Approaches Signing Walid Regragui for the World Cup

Khaberni - The Ghana Football Association has entered into advanced negotiations with Moroccan coach Walid Regragui, aiming to take over the management of the Ghana national team in the upcoming stage, according to press reports from Ghana.

According to reports, Regragui has become the primary candidate for the Ghana Football Association to succeed Otto Addo, who was dismissed from his position following a late defeat against Germany in a friendly match.

The Moroccan coach is regarded as one of the most prominent coaching names in Africa, following the achievements he secured with the Moroccan team, including leading the "Atlas Lions" to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup and reaching the finals of the African Nations Cup 2025.

Reports indicate that the discussions between the two parties are progressing positively, with optimism about the possibility of reaching a final deal in the near future.

The move by the Ghana Football Association comes at a time when it is looking to rebuild the national team and restore its continental and international presence, by contracting with a name that has extensive experience in managing major matches and continental championships.
