The King Emphasizes the Need to Start Implementing the Recommendations of the Judicial System Development Committee

Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II met on Tuesday at Al Husseiniya Palace with the members of the specialized committee for the follow-up of the judicial system development and received its recommendations, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince.

His Majesty listened to a briefing presented by the chairman of the Judicial Council Mahmoud Al-Ababneh, head of the committee, about the key aspects of the committee’s recommendations, which focused on reviewing legislation related to judicial work, judges, and organizational management of the Judicial Council as well as reviewing the infrastructure and technology.

The committee, formed by directives from His Majesty during his visit to the Jordanian Judicial Council last November, was based on a set of existing references, plans, and regulatory frameworks.

The committee’s recommendations included making amendments to more than 200 legal articles aiming to unify procedures in the courts, effectively employ technology, streamline and expedite litigation processes, increase the number of specialized judicial chambers, and expand the competencies of the economic chamber while enhancing the efficiency of judges working in it to create an attractive judicial environment for domestic and foreign investment.

His Majesty praised the efforts of the committee, emphasizing the necessity to start implementing its recommendations as per a clear execution plan and within specific time frames, ensuring coordination and cooperation among all relevant entities in the execution.

His Majesty underscored the importance of evaluating the impact of the recommendations after their implementation to ensure the achievement of the desired objectives.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Youssef Al-Issawi, and the Director of His Majesty's Office, Alaa Batayneh.
