Khaberni - The Jordanian Petroleum Refinery Company signed a memorandum of understanding with Al Hussein Technical University, one of the initiatives of the Crown Prince Foundation, aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of technical education, training, research and innovation, contributing to workforce readiness and supporting market requirements.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of the company, Engineer Hassan Al-Hayari, and by the university's Professor Dr. Ismail Al-Hinti, in the presence of the company's chairman, Engineer Abdul Rahim Al-Bqa'ai, and several company directors concerned, along with university professors.
This memorandum is part of establishing a practical partnership between the industrial sector and academic institutions, focusing on the development of applied skills and enhancing technical education through practical training programs and professional experience for university students within company facilities, in addition to implementing joint research projects and innovative initiatives that address the sector's challenges.
The areas of cooperation also include developing specialized training programs and workshops, organizing conferences and platforms for knowledge exchange, supporting graduation projects and entrepreneurship, alongside launching technical challenges and hackathons that contribute to providing practical solutions, as well as offering consultancy services in the areas of digital transformation, sustainability, and operational excellence.
The chairman of the Jordanian Petroleum Refinery Company, Engineer Abdel Rahim Al-Bqa'ai, confirmed that this partnership represents a strategic step in linking the industrial sector with academic institutions, contributing to the preparation of qualified cadres with the applied skills needed by the labor market. He pointed out that the company considers investing in human capital as one of the most important pillars of growth and sustainability.
In his turn, the CEO, Engineer Hassan Al-Hayari, stated that this agreement represents a qualitative step to enhance the integration between industry and education, pointing out that the company is progressing in expanding its partnerships with academic institutions to transfer expertise and build capabilities capable of keeping up with rapid developments, which positively reflects on the sector's competitiveness and operational efficiency.
On his part, the president of Al Hussein Technical University, Professor Dr. Ismail Al-Hinti, confirmed that this agreement represents a practical model for the integration between education and industry, reflecting the university's approach based on linking the educational outcomes to the needs of the labor market. He added that the partnership with the Jordanian Petroleum Refinery Company will provide university students with unique opportunities to gain practical experience within a real industrial environment, enhancing their professional readiness, supporting the development of their technical skills, and opening broader horizons for innovation and application.
