The Minister of Transport meets truck owners and confirms support for the sector and improving its operations

Khaberni - Transport Minister Nidal Al-Qatamin met on Tuesday at the ministry's building with representatives of individual truck owners to discuss the main challenges facing the sector and ways to develop it.

During the meeting, which was attended by Riyad Al-Kharabsheh, the General Manager of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, Al-Qatamin listened to the demands and observations of the sector's representatives, which focused on regulatory issues aimed at energizing freight operations, both domestically and internationally, thereby enhancing the efficiency of this vital activity.

The attendees provided detailed explanations about the challenges they face and the problems that hinder their operations, emphasizing the importance of finding practical solutions that contribute to supporting the continuity and development of the sector.

For his part, the minister affirmed the importance of the trucking sector as one of the main pillars of the transport system and the national economy, emphasizing the ministry's commitment to enhancing this sector and supporting it.

He expressed his interest in following up on the implementation of the proposed demands and working on overcoming obstacles in a way that serves the public interest, according to the frameworks and controls in place.

The meeting agreed on forming a joint committee consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Transport and the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, along with representatives from the truck owners' committee and union, to continuously address the sector's issues, and work to meet its demands and improve the working environment within it.

This meeting is part of a series of meetings held by the Minister of Transport with various sectors working in the transport system, with the aim of directly hearing the challenges and enhancing partnerships with the private sector, and working on developing services and improving performance efficiency, in line with government orientations and economic modernization plans.
