Retail workers stated that a variety of food items and cheeses have increased by up to 25%, even though they have been stockpiled for months in wholesalers' warehouses.
They told "Khaberni" that wholesalers have refrained from selling certain food items, hoping to achieve price differences, despite importing them before price hikes in the country of origin and before the (Israeli/American - Iranian) war.
These sources suggested that a new wave of price increases might occur following the expected adjustment in fuel prices today, under the pretext of rising diesel prices in the April pricing.
Despite the government's assurance of a strategic stockpile for most food items and warnings against raising prices, the market, according to observers, lacks real supervision to control it.
Among the items expected to see price increases, according to traders, are hydrogenated cheeses, tahini products, energy drinks, and instant coffee.
