Investigation Details with Ahmed Abdullah Mahmoud Despite His Apology for Statements Against Rushdi Abaza

Khaberni - Despite the artist Ahmed Abdullah Mahmoud's apology for his statements that offended the late artist Rushdi Abaza, the Actors' Guild referred the young artist to an investigation due to those statements.

Ahmed Abdullah Mahmoud underwent an investigation session at the union’s headquarters, where he was keen to explain his position and offer a formal apology.

During the investigation, Ahmed Abdullah Mahmoud affirmed his respect for the late Rushdi Abaza, emphasizing that the deceased is one of the pillars of Egyptian cinema, and that he holds respect and appreciation for him on both an artistic and personal level.

He also offered a clear apology to the family of the deceased, affirming his respect for them, alongside his apology to the artistic family, and to the Actors' Syndicate which he described as his union that he is proud to belong to.

He also specifically apologized to the head of the actors, Dr. Ashraf Zaki, and the members of the union’s board of directors, in recognition of their role in maintaining the values and stature of the profession.

The Actors' Syndicate reaffirmed its steadfast principles, foremost among them the respect and appreciation of the icons of art and its pioneers from among the giants of Egyptian cinema, stressing the necessity to adhere to the principles of the profession and to preserve its history and the stature of its icons for different generations.

Ahmed Abdullah Mahmoud had faced a wide campaign of criticism on social media, due to his statements about the late artist Rushdi Abaza which ignited the anger of his fans.

In his first response to those criticisms, Ahmed Abdullah Mahmoud stated in press statements that he never intended to insult the late Rushdi Abaza, in his last statement, and what happened was a joke, apologizing for the misunderstanding that occurred with the public, affirming his respect for the esteemed late artist, and that he did not intend to offend him. He said: "I apologize because the bad meaning was not intended at all, I was just joking".
