Khaberni - Media reports revealed that a controversial incident stirred up tension before a crucial World Cup qualifier, after the Bosnia and Herzegovina team announced they had detected a person suspected of conducting espionage during their closed training session, just hours before the highly anticipated match against Italy.
The Topskills Sports account on X reported that sources within Bosnia’s technical team confirmed that the coaches noticed a man in a military jacket bearing the Italian Football Federation logo, who was present in a restricted area near the pitch, at a time when the training was being conducted in complete secrecy.
It was added: "The individual was using a phone mounted on his chest to film details of the training session, including tactical movements and plans the team was preparing to implement in the match."
According to accounts, the situation was dealt with immediately, as the person was expelled from the training location after being discovered, amid a state of surprise and concern within the Bosnian camp, especially since the incident occurred at a very sensitive time before a crucial match.
The account noted that despite this rapid action, doubts still surround the extent of information that might have been leaked, since the team officials were unable to determine the duration of filming or the nature of the footage recorded, opening up widespread questions about its impact on the match proceedings.
Conversely, up to now, there has not been any official comment from the Italian Football Federation regarding the incident, as it aims to distance the Italian team from the surrounding atmosphere, while pressure increases on the organizing bodies to investigate the incident and uncover its details, particularly given the sensitivity of the competition and the importance of the match in the World Cup qualification journey.
