Kuwait summons the Iraqi Chargé dAffairs for the second time

Khaberni - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iraqi Chargé d'Affairs in Kuwait, Zaid Abbas Shanshool, for the second time, and handed him an official protest note regarding "the continuation of assaults carried out by Iraqi armed factions targeting Kuwaiti territory."

Aziz Rahim Al-Daihani, the acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, affirmed that the use of Iraqi territory to launch attacks against the State of Kuwait constitutes a direct aggression and a violation of its sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter.

Al-Daihani called on the Iraqi government to take immediate measures to deter those practices and reiterated Kuwait's right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and to take the necessary measures to protect its security and the integrity of its territory, as reported by the Kuwait News Agency "KUNA".

The Kuwaiti military announced in statement number (46) today that it has monitored and dealt with 13 hostile drones in the past 24 hours that penetrated the country's airspace, resulting in the targeting of a service building at one of the power and desalination plants and resulting in the death of one worker and causing significant material damage to the site.

Since February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel have been waging a widespread war on Iran, which retaliates by firing rockets and drones towards Israel and targeting what it describes as American interests in the region, although field data shows that the majority of these attacks have hit Gulf states, resulting in human losses and civilian damage, and have drawn official condemnations from within and outside the region.
