Yousra Youssef Chahine is a piece of my heart

Khaberni - The fifteenth session of the Luxor African Film Festival kicked off on Sunday evening at Luxor Temple, in a celebratory atmosphere that combined the magic of Egyptian civilization and the allure of the seventh art, attended by a constellation of stars from Egyptian and African cinema.

The opening ceremony featured a carnival scene on the banks of the Nile River, where festival participants traveled on Nile boats decorated with gold, arriving at the temple in a display that blended heritage and artistic celebration.

The event was attended by numerous stars, including Mahmoud Hemida, the honorary president of the festival, Khaled El Sawy, Reham Abdel Ghafour, Mohamed Ameen, alongside Yousra, Sabry Fawaz, Hamza Alaily, Basma, Ahmed Fathy, Salwa Mohamed Ali, Saif Abdel Rahman, and Nagwa Ibrahim.

In an interview, Yousra said: «The festival was founded by us, and I remember being very happy to participate in the first session, and today I feel a great pride in honoring the great professor, the late director Youssef Chahine, who left an indelible mark on the history of Egyptian, Arab, and international cinema. Youssef Chahine is a piece of my heart».

Yousra added: «I also have a seminar as part of the festival's activities, and I'm proud to honor Reham Abdel Ghafour and Khaled El Sawy, as this duo is distinguished and represents the pinnacle of creativity in the acting world».

The opening ceremony included the screening of a documentary film about the late director Youssef Chahine, which included testimonials from several artists, where Yousra confirmed that Chahine's artistic contributions will not be repeated, highlighting his significant impact on her artistic career and in cinema history in general.
