Khaberni - A new generation of flagship Android phones is on the horizon, fully focusing on cameras, surpassing the strongest current Android phones, including Samsung and Google, in several other aspects as well.
The specifications of the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra were revealed on the Chinese Weibo platform, confirming that it is equipped with a 200-megapixel optical zoom sensor (likely a 1/1.4 inch type), paired with a large 1-inch main sensor and a developed ultra-wide lens, in addition to advanced zoom systems and enhanced color technology.
These specifications push smartphone photography towards the level of professional cameras, which the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has not achieved, according to a report by "Digital Trends," a technology news site, reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".
It is no longer just about megapixels; these phones focus on optics, sensor size, and ease of use in everyday life, heavily relying on partnerships with companies like Zeiss and Leica to improve image processing and video performance.
Why should Samsung pay attention?
The truth is that the competition in the race of flagship Android phones has become more intense. For years, the Galaxy S Ultra series from "Samsung" was the standard for flagship Android phones, especially in camera technologies.
But now, brands like Vivo and Oppo are pushing with more ambitious devices, particularly in the field of zoom and photography. Both the Vivo X100 Ultra and X200 Pro feature spectacular camera setups, and it seems that the X300 Ultra continues this approach.
There is also "Oppo," as the upcoming Find X9 Ultra for the company is expected to feature an original optical zoom system up to 10x with a complex prism design, which may compete with, or even surpass, traditional zoom systems.
Similarly, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra from "Xiaomi" also features an actual zoom ring similar to DSLR cameras paired with a 200-megapixel zoom camera. In other words, these brands are not just keeping up with the competition; they are striving to surpass it.
The experience with Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Pro revealed that these two brands lead in the field of cameras, both in terms of quality and creative features. As for "Samsung," it seems to lack creativity, although it is not disappointing in any way.
S26 Ultra is not at the forefront of the competition
While "Samsung" continues to innovate, this time, it seems that its efforts are not bearing the same strength fruits. A notable feature of the S26 Ultra is its new "privacy screen," which is a great addition, but comes with a drawback, as users have complained that it causes eye strain and dizziness.
Beyond that feature, the improvements in the new S26 Ultra are largely routine, with a usual processor upgrade, and nothing else that distinguishes it.
At the same time, competitors are making much greater efforts, especially in the field of cameras. While brands like Vivo and Oppo experiment with new lenses, larger sensors, and more advanced zoom/minimize systems, Samsung seems to maintain its current approach, including the periscope setup that has remained largely unchanged, and minor improvements to the sensors.
While loyal users are likely to stay with "Samsung," there are still options available like Google Pixel. But the world of Android has always revolved around diversity, and this diversity is becoming more attractive.
