Continuation of Alcohol Ban in Russian Stadiums

Khaberni - Deputy of the Russian Duma, Nikolay Valuev, announced his rejection of the return of beer sales in stadiums, stating that "there is no place for it there."
In a statement conveyed by RB Sport website, Valuev said: "This decision is absolutely right. Beer should not be in stadiums. I have long held this position and have not changed my mind and will not change it. The ban was not imposed without reason."
Earlier, Dmitry Svishchev, the first deputy chairman of the sports committee in the Duma, noted that the Russian Ministry of Health had obstructed a bill that aimed to reintroduce the sale of beer in stadiums, considering that this contributes to the increased spread of alcohol consumption in society.

It is worth mentioning that the ban on the sale of alcohol in sports facilities in Russia has been in effect since 2005, and it was only temporarily lifted during the 2018 World Cup, before being reimposed after the end of the tournament.
