Khaberni - The World Health Organization said that a health sector worker in South Lebanon was killed as Israel expanded its military operations in the area.
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, wrote in a post on the X platform that a paramedic was killed in an attack targeting an ambulance in Bent Jbeil, adding that a medical warehouse in the same city was destroyed in an attack.
Before this attack, Ghebreyesus said that the organization verified the killing of 51 Lebanese health sector workers since March 2, including nine paramedics last Saturday.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that the Israeli occupation committed a double crime against the health sector in Bent Jbeil, where an ambulance belonging to the health authority was targeted, resulting in the death of a paramedic, and a drug and supply warehouse at Bent Jbeil Governmental Hospital was also targeted, leading to the complete burning of the warehouse.
The Ministry renewed its condemnation of the repeated Israeli attacks on the health sector, which constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
