Khaberni - Major General Obaidullah Al-Maaytah confirmed that the Directorate of Public Security continues to implement its comprehensive strategy to combat drugs with firmness and strength, as part of a security approach based on strictness and continuous development, emphasizing that there is no retreat and no leniency in facing this dangerous scourge.
This came during a visit he made on Sunday to the Anti-Narcotics Department, where he reviewed the progress of field operations and intelligence plans that pursue networks of trafficking and promotion, confirming that the security forces continue to carry out quality operations that target the sources of these poisons and dry up their sources with precision and capability.
During the visit, Major General Al-Maaytah conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Majesty's great appreciation for the efforts of the Public Security personnel, especially the heroes of the Anti-Narcotics Department, who offer their lives as a sacrifice for the nation in confronting this crime, and protecting its security and stability.
Major General Al-Maaytah recalled the sacrifices of the martyrs of duty who rose during their confrontation with the drug traffickers, emphasizing that their pure blood will remain a beacon to guide the way, and a covenant that the security men will not deviate from in continuing the journey with unwavering determination and unbreakable will.
He stressed that the current stage imposes rapid development in security and intelligence work tools, and continuous monitoring of organized crime methods, confirming that security campaigns will continue at a high pace, and with tight plans that target criminal networks wherever they are found.
He affirmed that combating drugs is not limited to the security aspect only, but is a comprehensive national responsibility, where efforts are integrated with various state institutions and society, through awareness and educational programs that contribute to building a societal awareness rejecting this scourge. He noted that coordination and integration with the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, and all security forces and competent authorities continue to confront this scourge.
In the same context, he directed support towards treatment and rehabilitation programs, and preparing a suitable environment for the rehabilitated individuals to return to their normal lives, confirming that the humane and therapeutic dimension forms a fundamental pillar in the national strategy for combating drugs.
At the end of the visit, Major General Al-Maaytah listened to a detailed briefing presented by the Director of the Anti-Narcotics Administration, which outlined the most significant accomplishments achieved, and the future operational plans.
