S26 Ultra Screen Issues Attract Samsungs Attention Imminent Fix on the Way

Khaberni - It seems that consumer reports about their issues with the new Galaxy S26 Ultra screen have finally caught the attention of Samsung, who promised their representatives would soon issue an update to address these issues.

One Galaxy S26 Ultra owner reported a glitch through the company's official channels. In a recent development, the user received an update from "Samsung" indicating that repairs and improvements to the phone's screen issues are imminent.

Galaxy S26 Ultra users complained of eye strain and headaches, due to the new pixel structure used in the S26 Ultra screen which supports the "Privacy Screen" feature exclusively available on the S26 Ultra, according to a report by "Sammy Fans" reviewed by "Arabia Business".

The response received by the user, who complained through the official channels, included two specific terms: "flicker" and "distortion", and it is possible that "Samsung" has discovered the errors that cause these issues in the S26 Ultra screen, and a solution will be introduced with upcoming updates.

However, it seems that the solution promised by "Samsung" relates to the flicker and distortion problem, and it is unlikely to address the eye strain, as it is due to a difference in the screen components themselves based on the "Flex Magic Panel" technology.

Why does the "Privacy Screen" feature cause problems for users?
The "Privacy Screen" feature relies on a mechanism integrated directly into the "OLED" layer, where "Samsung" adopted a dual-pixel setup called "Flex Magic Pixel", in which engineers divided the screen into two groups of sub-pixels: narrow and wide.

The wide pixels function like regular pixels, distributing light evenly, thus maintaining screen brightness and color accuracy from nearly any angle.
However, the narrow pixels operate differently, as "Samsung" has added tiny holes within them to control the direction of the light.

When the Privacy Screen mode is activated, the phone turns off the wide pixel units, and only the narrow pixel units remain lit. Because they cannot scatter the light sideways, anyone trying to look at the phone's screen from a certain angle sees a black screen.

Given that the S26 Ultra screen is divided between wide and narrow pixel units, it faces difficulty in displaying images evenly.

Furthermore, daily motions such as tilting the phone can sometimes make the narrow pixel units disappear even when both pixel groups are active.
When the phone is returned to an upright angle, the narrow pixel units suddenly light up the retina, a phenomenon users in forums call the "punch effect".

The sudden change in brightness causes a small flicker or glow on the screen, forcing the eyes to continuously readjust focus. This is the reason for the headaches and other complaints shared by users on the Reddit platform.
