Khaberni - The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply issued 376 violations against facilities for non-compliance with the provisions of the industry and trade law and related legislation since the beginning of this month.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said in a statement on Sunday that the Market Monitoring Directorate dealt with various complaints received from citizens, totaling 129 complaints, through market inspectors spread across all regions, and took the necessary measures to address them, reflecting the speed of response and the effectiveness of the supervision.
It added that the supervisory teams conducted 471 inspection rounds covering 7,902 visits to commercial facilities in various provinces of the kingdom, with the aim of verifying their compliance with the instructions and regulations in force.
It pointed out that the Market Monitoring Directorate continues to implement the provisions of the Industry and Trade Law No. 18 of 1998, which includes supervising the availability and prices of basic food commodities, verifying price announcements and compliance with them, monitoring the stock at wholesale traders, as well as controlling any practices related to hiding goods or refusing to sell them, and monitoring discounts, liquidation, and promotional offers.
The ministry confirmed the continuation of its supervisory campaigns to ensure market stability and consumer protection, urging citizens to submit complaints and their observations through the official recognized channels and the numbers designated for this purpose via the number 06-5629045
