Khaberni - The president of the Vision Association for Cellular Device and Accessories Investors, Ahmed Alloush, revealed that the number of payment transactions using bank cards or phones via point of sale devices in phone and accessories stores during the year 2025 reached about 1.4 million transactions, with a total value amounting to 58.3 million dinars.
Alloush explained in a press statement on Sunday that the value of purchases via credit cards in 2024 amounted to about 60.2 million dinars, while the number of payment transactions in the same year recorded about 1.2 million transactions through point of sale devices at cellular device trade stores.
Regarding the import volume, he indicated that Jordan's total imports of cellular devices during the year 2025 reached about 1.7 million devices, with a total value amounting to 162 million dinars, recording a decline compared to the year 2024, which saw import values of about 176 million dinars and a number of 1.855 million devices.
He added that the Kingdom imported about 389,000 tablet devices in the year 2025, with a total value amounting to 58 million dinars, based on data from the Jordanian Customs Department, which relies on certified customs invoices.
Alloush pointed out that the average price of a single tablet device during the year 2025 amounted to about 149 dinars, noting that the increase in import value despite a decrease in the number of devices compared to the year 2024 is due to the rise in average prices in the manufacturing countries.
