Iraqchi condolences for Lebanese journalists Fatouni and Shuaib

Khaberni - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Israel's assassination of Lebanese journalists Ali Shuaib and Fatimah Fatouni clearly represents a systematic assassination intending to go beyond merely eliminating individuals.

In the condolence telegram sent by Minister Araghchi following the killing of Al Mayadeen channel correspondent Fatimah Fatouni and Al Manar channel correspondent Ali Shuaib, it was stated: "This act, which clearly is a systematic assassination with intentions beyond just eliminating individuals."

He added: "It represents a blatant attempt to 'assassinate the truth' and silence the voices of those conveying reality."

The minister continued: "This act constitutes a clear violation of the laws and international agreements pertaining to the protection of journalists in conflict zones."

He went on to say: "As is the case with many international norms, they did not act as a barrier against the brutality of this entity, and thus, the repetition of these crimes clearly indicates a continuing hostile approach aimed at restricting freedom of expression."

Yesterday, the Lebanese capital Beirut witnessed a large solidarity stand, protesting against the Israeli crimes committed against journalists in the wake of the killing of correspondents Fatouni and Shuaib in an Israeli raid.

In an exclusive interview with RT, Lebanese Health Minister Rakan Nasser pointed out that the Israeli aggression against media personnel began with targeting an RT channel team in southern Lebanon, noting an increase in targeting paramedics, journalists, and media personnel, with the medical body's death toll reaching 52, while the number of media casualties has risen to 3.
