Khaberni - Security sources reported that air defenses downed a drone near the residence of Masoud Barzani, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Iraq, in Erbil.
Security sources said on Saturday that a drone attack targeted the home of the president of the Iraqi Kurdistan region in an incident that comes amid escalating tensions in northern Iraq.
The US State Department condemned what it described as "terrorist attacks" by Iran-backed militias on the residence of the president of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, Masoud Barzani.
Since the outbreak of the war that began with a US-Israeli attack on Iran a month ago, locations of Iraqi armed factions loyal to Tehran have been subjected to raids attributed to the United States and Israel, while attacks claimed by Iraqi factions target American interests, and Iran conducts strikes against Iranian Kurdish opposition groups based in the Kurdistan region.
