Khaberni - US Vice President JD Vance confirmed that President Donald Trump "will continue the military operation against Iran for a while, to ensure that Washington does not have to undertake a similar operation in the future".
Vance added in statements today, Saturday, "We have achieved most of our military targets in Iran, and it can be said that all these objectives have been achieved", justifying the United States' need to neutralize Iran for a very long time, considering that "this is the goal of the operation".
He said, "Iran threatens us in every way, and is still seeking to acquire nuclear weapons", but he clarified that Trump "was clear that we do not want to stay in Iran for another year or two and that we will leave soon".
The US Vice President also talked about the rise in gasoline prices, saying it "increased due to what is happening in the Middle East, but it will decrease".
It is noteworthy that the US President said last night that there are 3500 military targets left for the American operation, and the Central Command confirmed two days ago that 10,000 targets had been targeted.
The United States is also considering sending at least 10,000 additional troops to the Middle East in the coming days, according to US media reported on Friday, considering that this could indicate a ground operation as part of the war with Iran.
The "Wall Street Journal" quoted officials from the US Department of War (the Pentagon) as saying that the purpose of this is to provide more military options for President Trump in the war.
This force - which is likely to include infantry units and armored vehicles - will join about 5,000 elements of the Marines and thousands of paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division, who were previously deployed in the region.
On the other hand, Israeli media reported on Friday that Vance told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the latter's expectations about "toppling the Iranian regime were overly optimistic".
The private Channel 12 talked about a phone call between Vance and Netanyahu on Monday, during which the US Vice President mentioned that Netanyahu had informed President Trump that the war on Iran was "easy" and that a regime change was "likely".
The channel "reported that over the past weekend, during the indirect exchange of messages with the Iranians, the White House raised the possibility of Vance leading an American delegation for high-level peace talks", as Vance prepares to lead American efforts to end a war he himself was initially apprehensive about entering.
According to the channel, "Vance's advisors believe that some elements in Israel are trying to undermine the Vice President's efforts, perhaps because they see him as not conservative enough", while Israeli officials deny this.
The channel also quoted unnamed officials in the White House as saying, "Vance's opposition to open conflicts makes him a more attractive mediator to the Iranians", and the officials added, "If the Iranians cannot make an agreement with Vance, they won't get any agreement, because he is the best they can get".
The Israeli-American aggression against Iran continues despite Washington's talk about indirect contacts with the Iranians to conclude an agreement, while Tehran denied that, stating that stopping the war and paying compensations are essential conditions before starting any negotiations.
