Khaberni - Bassem Al-Habeis, the head of Ma'adi Municipal Committee, urges citizens to avoid being near the course of the Zarqa stream in light of the water flow from King Talal Dam and fears of a sudden rise in the water level in the stream due to unstable weather conditions.
Al-Habeis added on Saturday that this alert comes at a time when the Kingdom is experiencing weather fluctuations that pose a direct risk to lives and property, stating that rising temperatures in the Jordan Valley area and the area gaining the greenery of spring have led to increased movement of picnickers along the stream with their children at a time when a sudden increase in water levels is likely, which raises the possibility of the stream's waters suddenly overwhelming those nearby.
He confirmed that these warnings are part of the municipal precautionary measures to reduce accidents that recur during the rainy seasons, emphasizing the need to adhere to the guidelines issued by official authorities, and not to risk crossing roads or approaching water gatherings.
