Morocco plans to invest 35 billion euros in hotels in preparation for the 2030 World Cup

Khaberni - Morocco is preparing to bolster its hotel sector in the framework of preparations to host the 2030 World Cup, planning to invest more than 3.5 billion euros in multiple hotel projects aimed at meeting the expected demand during the tournament.

According to the Instant Foot account on X citing Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, this direction coincides with its participation in the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal, hosting matches in six Moroccan cities as part of an expanded edition of the tournament that includes 48 teams.

It explained: "Through these investments, the kingdom aims to add about 25,000 new hotel rooms across 700 projects, mostly overseen by local investors, with the goal of developing the tourist infrastructure and enhancing the accommodation capacity of hotels during the tournament."

And it continued: "This ambitious project reflects Morocco's confidence in its tourism potential, having recorded record numbers of visitors in the year 2025, which indicates its desire to leverage the global event to promote sustainable economic development and accelerate the growth of the tourism and hotel sectors in the long term."
