Khaberni - The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced an investigation into the death of a citizen who was detained by the intelligence agency on charges of espionage, following the circulation of information and images about the incident on social media.
The ministry clarified that the deceased, Mohammad Abdulmohsen Mohammad (32 years old), was detained in a case related to espionage and transferring information and data to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard about vital locations in the country with the aim of targeting them, amid what it described as the "Iranian aggression" against the kingdom, noting that there had been a warrant for his arrest.
The ministry denied the accuracy of the circulated images of the deceased's injuries, considering them to be used "with the intention to provoke", while at the same time confirming the notification of the special investigation unit affiliated with the public prosecution to begin the investigation and ascertain the circumstances of the death and its causes.
