Trump names the Strait of Hormuz after himself

Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump sarcastically referred to the vital oil shipping route, the Strait of Hormuz, as "Strait Trump," in a move that reflects his tone regarding the passage that has become a major focus in the war.
Trump said in his speech: Iran should "open Strait Trump - I mean, Hormuz. Excuse me. I am very sorry. What a terrible mistake." He then explained, "The fake news media will say, 'He said it by mistake' - no, such incidents don’t happen with me, not often. If it did, we would have a big story."

This comment comes at a time when the Strait of Hormuz has emerged as a major source of conflict in the ongoing war since February 28, where Iran's ability to effectively close the strait has caused a historic disruption in global energy supplies. The passage usually transports 20 million barrels of oil a day.

According to the "New York Post," citing sources, Trump is considering taking control of the strait and renaming it after himself, or naming it "Strait America," similar to his previous attempt to rename the Gulf of Mexico.

This follows the White House's announcement last December that the Kennedy Center board voted in favor of renaming it to "Trump-Kennedy Center."

Trump announced that Iran is negotiating with the United States and "begging" for a deal, despite Tehran's denial of any direct talks.

He also raised the possibility last Monday that the strait could be jointly controlled by "me and the Ayatollah" as part of a solution for the war. The war continues for the twenty-eighth consecutive day.
