Khaberni - Dr. Amal Jabour
Costa Rica announced its support for the autonomy initiative proposed by Morocco to resolve the Sahara conflict, considering it the most serious, realistic, and feasible option to reach a political settlement.
This stance was included in a joint declaration signed in Rabat today, following talks between Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Costa Rican counterpart Arnoldo Andre Tinoco, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
Costa Rica affirmed its determination to adopt this stance in its political, diplomatic, and economic activities, while also praising the international dynamics the file is experiencing and the role played by King Mohammed VI in promoting a political solution.
It also commended United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797 (2025), reaffirming its support for UN efforts and the endeavors of the Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy to make progress in the political process and reach a final solution to this conflict.
