Khaberni - The Egyptian government announced the implementation of new opening and closing times for retail shops, malls, and restaurants, starting from Saturday, March 28, They will close at 9 PM during weekdays.
Extended working hours until 10 PM will be allowed on Fridays and Saturdays, as part of a decision aimed at rationalizing electricity consumption under the current circumstances.
Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly confirmed that this step is part of measures intended to reduce energy consumption, noting that its implementation will be gradual over a period of one month.
Relevant authorities are set to begin monitoring the enforcement of the decision through regulatory campaigns in various governorates, taking necessary actions against violators to ensure compliance.
The decision is expected to contribute to reduced electricity consumption, particularly during nighttime, alongside organizing working hours in markets and various activities.
