Khaberni - Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara visits Germany where he will meet Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Monday, according to a government spokesman in Berlin on Friday.
German government spokesman Stefan Cornelius said the Chancellor will receive Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara at the Chancellor's headquarters on Monday... on his first visit to the country since taking power in Damascus after overthrowing Bashar al-Assad's regime at the end of 2024.
The visit was scheduled for January, but the Syrian side requested a delay, according to what Berlin announced at the time, as it coincided with tensions between the Syrian government forces and the Kurds, which ended with an agreement between the two parties.
