Egypt Government response to the arrival of a ship with a military shipment bound for Israel

Khaberni - The Egyptian government confirmed on Thursday that the allegations circulating about the reception at the "Abu Qir" port on the Mediterranean of a ship loaded with steel used in the manufacturing of weapons and ammunition, on its way to Israel, are not true.

The State Information Ministry mentioned that it has monitored some media and social media outlets claiming the docking of a foreign ship at the "Abu Qir" port, on its way to an Israeli port, carrying a shipment of steel used in the manufacturing of weapons and ammunition.

The Ministry clarified that what has been circulated in this regard "is simply lies and untrue rumors," and that the loading and unloading operations at all Egyptian ports are conducted within the framework of international maritime agreements, and are subjected to a precise system of real-time monitoring and tracking.

The ministry urged "all media outlets as well as social media users to adhere to the professional rules of media work which mandate verifying the accuracy of data, and consulting reliable and official sources to confirm their validity before promoting them," according to the statement.

The Boycott Israel movement had claimed that the ship "MSC Danit" docked at Abu Qir port in Egypt, on its way to Israel loaded with 15 containers of military-use steel, before the government officially denied these allegations.
